FAQs

What is a Directed Care Network?
Care   's directed care network coordinates and schedules medical services such as IMEs, MRIs, physical therapy, etc. It focuses on locating the most appropriate provider based on the patients' medical needs, geographic location and on providing the necessary medical treatments as quickly as possible.

In addition to managing the coordination of care, a directed care network also manages all of the administrative functions - including provider relations and the addition of providers to the network. Care    takes the worry out of scheduling medical services, so you can get back to your business.

What is Magnetic Resonance Imaging?
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a diagnostic imaging technology that uses a strong magnet and radio frequency waves to produce pictures or "images" of your internal organs and structures. Because MRI allows your doctor to see inside your body from any angle with great clarity, it gives doctors a wealth of information more economically than past tests and exploratory surgeries.

How does Care    schedule a medical imaging, physical therapy or chiropractic procedure?
For workers' compensation cases, usually the case manager or adjuster will contact Care    directly and schedule the procedure. For our group health customers, please call the number on the back of your benefits card and schedule your procedure with Care   .

How far does the patient have to drive for their appointment?
We schedule the appointment at the facility nearest to the patient, usually within 15 minutes from their home or workplace.

Does Care    contact the physician, adjuster, case manager and the patient?
Yes. After we have confirmed the appointment with the patient, Care    will confirm the appointment via a fax confirmation and inform the referring physician's office, adjuster and/or case manager to let them know when and where the patient is scheduled.

How do you handle non-compliant patients?
The day following the appointment, we call the facility to confirm that the patient completed the exam. IIf the exam was not completed, we determine the reason and reschedule when appropriate. We will then notify the referring physician's office, adjuster and/or case manager regarding the status of the appointment.

How fast is the report turnaround to the physician?
Once the report has been prepared, the medical imaging facility faxes the medical report to the referring physician and Care   . Care    then faxes the medical report to the adjuster and/or case manager within 24-48 hours after the procedure has been completed.

Does Care    guarantee the quality of their medical imaging services?
Because our facility equipment are fully credentialed through the American College of Radiology, we guarantee the quality of each medical imaging procedure. Our complaint-free mission is the best in the industry.

Does Care    charge for no-shows?
There is never a charge for a procedure not completed.

How can I be assured the providers Care    refers to are the best in my area?
Care    contracts only board certified doctors, and we then personally evaluate and credential a doctor using nationally accepted NCQA standards. We also re-evaluate each provider yearly.
