What is a Directed Care Network?
CareIQ's directed care network coordinates and schedules medical services such as IMEs, MRIs and physical therapy. We focus on locating the most appropriate provider based on the patients' medical needs and geographic location, while providing the necessary medical treatments as quickly as possible.

In addition to managing the coordination of care, our directed care network also manages all of the administrative functions - including provider relations and additions of new providers to the network.

What is Magnetic Resonance Imaging?
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a diagnostic imaging technology that uses a strong magnet and radio frequency waves to produce pictures or "images" of internal organs and structures. Because MRI allows a doctor to see inside the body from any angle with great clarity, it gives doctors more in-depth information than earlier tests and exploratory surgeries.

How does CareIQ schedule medical imaging, physical therapy or other services?
For workers' compensation cases, the case manager or adjuster will contact CareIQ to have us schedule the procedure. For our group health customers, patients should call the number on the back of their benefits card and schedule their procedure through CareIQ.

How far does the patient have to drive for their appointment?
We schedule the appointment at the facility nearest to the patient, usually within 15 minutes from their home or workplace.

Does CareIQ contact the physician, adjuster, case manager and the patient?
Yes. After we have confirmed the appointment with the patient, CareIQ will confirm the appointment with a fax notification to the referring physician's office, adjuster and/or case manager with details of when and where the patient is scheduled.

How are non-compliant patients handled?
The day following the appointment, we will contact the facility to confirm that the patient went to their scheduled appointment. If the appointment was not kept, CareIQ will determine the reason and reschedule as appropriate and will notify the referring physician, adjuster and/or case manager regarding the status of the appointment.

How soon does a physician receive the MRI report?
Once the medical report has been prepared, the imaging facility will fax the report to the referring physician and CareIQ. CareIQ will fax the report to the adjuster and/or case manager within 24-48 hours after the procedure has been completed.

Does CareIQ guarantee the quality of their medical imaging services?
Because our facility equipment is fully credentialed through the American College of Radiology, we guarantee the quality of each medical imaging procedure.

Does CareIQ charge for no-shows?
There is never a charge for a procedure or appointment not completed.

How can I be assured the CareIQ providers are the best in the patient's geographic area?
CareIQ only contracts with board certified doctors. We personally evaluate and credential all doctors using nationally accepted NCQA standards. All providers are re-evaluated once a year.
